The voice was quite “lectury” and “telling” which does work for a magazine article but is more difficult in book length.  The topic and Florida detail kept me reading.

This is a nonfiction book that reads like fiction making it a fast read. I loved that the author did not betray the poaches as "bad guys" instead as complex people who often have to make hard decisions about how to survive.

Very interesting investigative story; I just wasn’t in the mindset to read it.

Jeff Babauta goes undercover into a ring of alligator poachers. His fascinating story is about nature and humanity and what it takes to truly protect the environment. It was an interesting look into the world of alligator farming and poaching.
