It was a good enough story. I’m interested in finishing the novellas so that I can decide if I actually want to continue the series or not.

Not much to say. I didn't think I would like the novella Celaena . I haven't read all of Throne of Glass yet. I read the first 15 chapters a few months ago and put it on hold. Not much was happening and it got kinda boring. I only read this because I needed a short yellow book (falling behind on my Rainbow-a-thon).

Anyway, while I did not expect to like it, I did. It could still get slightly boring and dragging but it was good. I also thought Celaena was okay. The only problem I had with her was the whole 'I am Celaena Sardothien' thing. Too much of an attention seeker. But otherwise, no problem. I'm gonna try to finish Throne of Glass soon...

This book had some very nice world-building and character development, seeing as it shows how hard it is for Celaena to trust people and make friends. I loved to see how assassins in other parts of the world live and train. I just didn't really vibe with the whole betrayal part, and I think that's why I scored it lower than some of the other books.
