5 stars. This was the perfect little novella companion to book one. It was so nice being back with Maya and Anais and this was so good. I loved Maya trying to salvage the relationship with her father and her coming out to the rest of her family. It was all so drama filled and a bit angsty but it wraps up so beautifully. The epilogue was absolute perfection and made me all teary eyed and happy. I love this series and I think this is the end of it unfortunately but I will be checking out Freeman’s other books because I adore her work.
