I read this years ago, as a family member had a copy, then bought it myself second-hand as I wanted to re-read it. It's an informative book, but written by a journalist and the prosecutor in Richard Speck's trial, so it is a one-sided view. That being said, what Richard Speck did was awful, and I think this gives a very good view of his background, as well as the backgrounds of the victims, and then the crime is detailed and the subsequent manhunt and trial. There are pictures, but they are in black and white, so nothing too gory.

Downfall? The edition I have features Speck on the cover - all the other editions feature his victims, which I think is better - this is showing how they got justice for them, after all, and it should be them who are remembered.
