Andrew Rowe's writing I realize is just very good. Good as in:
- Entertaining: great drama, fun to read
- Intelligent: interesting concepts intelligent characters
- Positive: It's in this book I realized most the depth of kindness and consideration his characters show. Far from being shallow or unrealistic, I found these characters to be interesting and attractive models even.

Much as this stuff lives in the "low" genre of fantasy, I sense a lot of depth and sophistication in here. Some may be me reading more than is there in the subtext... but I don't think so.

Oh man, was this book a lot of fun!! What a joy to read! Big shout out to Petrik who recommended it to me!

This book was full of great action and a really fun story and enjoyable characters to boot! How can you not get excited about a snarky talking sword? Or a dragon?

I loved all the video game references in the chapter titles. I made this RPG nerds heart squirm with happiness. In fact, ready this book was basically like reading an old school RPG at times. There's puzzles to solve and bosses to fight and it was right up my alley.

If you enjoy quippy dialogue and enjoyable characters with some really awesome fight scenes then you should check this book out. It's worth your time.
