I didn't want to like this book, but the childhood version of myself had too many fond memories.

For the second title in this series, I tried it out on audiobook and I liked it even better in that format.  The audiobook is full cast, so each character has a different voice.  Plus it incorporates sound effects and background music.  It is also very well done. I find the GPK books a bit repetitive, but for the age group in which they are written, they should be.  The audiobook takes away the tedium of repetitiveness.  In this book the kids get a Hippo that escaped from the zoo, enter the best pet contest, and try to go to an amusement park.  This book is full of thrills and laughs that young chapter readers are seeking.

A huge thanks to Blackstone Publishing for my audiobook arc in exchange for an honest review. I totally loved this audiobook as the narrators were hilariously amazing and kept me laughing. If you are having a bad day grab this audiobook (it’s only 3 hours long).

This book is about the Garbage Pail Kids who are desperate to win the Smellville Pet Contest and have to compete against Good Boy, the perfect Chihuahua of the Perfect twins
