Thanks to my hubby for giving me this book for Christmas! EEP, finally I could read this one!
In this one Lottie, a super teen detective gets framed for a murder! How could I resist this book! Lottie was oodles of fun, sometimes a bit crazy or going far, but I loved her drive and I loved how her brain worked. Despite everything she was trying to stay positive.
BUT what happened to the whole murder plot that Lottie got framed for??? I mean, for most of the book we get to see her work at the police. Solving other cases. Very exciting cases and all that and I really really enjoyed seeing Claire get worked up about things, solve the cases, and have fun, but still I wanted to get deeper into the murder as well! I did like that Claire was at least doing some research.
BUT THE ENDINGGGGGGG. Is there more coming? WTF? It just felt so rushed and out of nowhere.
The art was fab!

While I enjoyed the art and coloring, the story felt a bit disjointed. I wanted more information on Charlotte's housemates, or even the detectives, so I wasn't truly invested in the characters. An okay graphic novel.

Not as strong as Bad Machinery, but it got better as the issues went along, so I'm optimistic this will just keep getting better and better. But I am a Charlotte Grote apologist and will read anything Allison writes with her in it, so take this with a grain of salt.

This is everything I'd expect and more from Allison, having dropped out of reading his work when Scary Go Round ended. I'm definitely going to be going back for Giant Days, Lottie and Claire were a couple of my faves back in the day and this just shows that the stories of Tackleford are never over!

Really loved this! Was hoping it would have more clarity about the ending but I really liked it and I liked the characters too! Super impressive character development for such a short book too!
