So, Crito comes to see if Socrats' had any second thoughts about his plan to die and later refuse leave his stand. A kind of a sequel to Apology ; referring to its prequel several times; but isn't much in way of an addition (except perhaps the fact that even ancient Greek had corrupt officers).

There is a bit of inconsistency in Socrates' own reason - at one point, he says only opinions of good people should matter while he accepts' punishment granted to him by people whom he doesn't consider good (the ones who carried case against him (see apology). Lets give him benefit of doubt though, for he didn't have much of time to clear doubts.

Platão nos conta um pouco dos últimos dias de Sócrates, do seu julgamento e de como ele reagiu às acusações e a sua eminente condenação.
 Sócrates reflete sobre cidadania, religião, sobre conceitos de bem e mal, sobre costumes e sobre o valor da vida.
 Um belo livro de filosofia, que mostra um pouco do impacto do pensamento de Sócrates no desenvolvimento da sociedade ocidental.

Ένα κείμενο που μάλλον έχει διαβαστεί πολύ περισσότερο από ανθρώπους εκτός Ελλάδας όπως διαπιστώνω κι εδώ στο Goodreads.
Προφανώς δεν μπαίνουμε σε διαδικασία βαθμολόγησης για ένα από τα πιο επιδραστικά κείμενα παγκοσμίως.
Εδώ ο Σωκράτης απόλυτα ψύχραιμα υπερασπίζεται τον εαυτό του και αντιμετωπίζει τελικά την θανατική ποινή, χριζοντας τον εαυτό του απαραίτητο στην αθηναϊκή κοινωνία, διδάσκοντας την ταπεινότητα και την συνείδηση του μεγέθους μας σε αυτόν τον κόσμο. Ένα έργο που κατά δήλωση του είναι εντολή θεού. ( Ίσως αυτό το τελευταίο να έγειρε την πλάστιγγα στην καταδίκη, κάτι ανάλογο συνέβη και στον Χριστό)

read for poli. i liked this one better than apology, you really feel the gravity of socrates’ decision to die an athenian citizen. also the ideas were just more interesting to me
