Enjoyed following the arc of a character with a different emotional millieu than my own. I felt like Lou and I were both observing her life from a similar vantage point, which was interesting and calming.

3.5 rounded up. The writing was very good. It all felt very real despite being a story about a model.

"And how miraculous: that you could hand something that felt so heavy over to someone else and they would take it; that to them, it was so light, compared to whatever they were carrying, it was practically nothing."

"Sometimes it felt like there were two halves of a person. The person themselves, wandering around the world, having their own thoughts, and the people everywhere else having thoughts about them."

"Sometimes you got close to the thing you wanted, and that was enough. That was adulthood."

Such a lovely look into the world of modelling and life in Portland. Jules Ohman introduces us to Lou, who pursues a career in modelling to push away some personal struggles. We meet her friends, and follow her as she dives into a new world. A unique story, touching, and a great insight into the 'chic' lifestyle of modelling. Follow your dreams! And embrace love.
