I paid for a discounted copy. I really enjoyed this book, it gave me food for thought and gave alternate views what seemed to me to be a fair treatment.

I really enjoy Philip Yancey's writing. There was nothing here that was particularly revealing or new information about Jesus, but the author seems to have a way of writing that gets your mind engaged and thinking about the topic in different ways. I'd definitely recommend this one.

This book is only useful for people who believe wholeheartedly in modern Christianity. I’m not sure who the author was writing for, but his mission to “uncover” Jesus from another angle is severely lacking. It’s very superficial, and often peppered with subjective statements being presented as fact.

My review of this book is on my Jesus in Books podcast: http://jesusinbooks.com/the-jesus-i-never-knew-by-philip-yancey/

With the help of the book I also synthesize a list of reasons why Jesus would be "unemployable" in today's job market.

This book had many great things to back up Jesus and who he was while on earth. It shined of God. I enjoyed it. Mr. Yancey begins how he originally depicted Christ, how society depicts Him, Who He really is according to the Bible, and what we do in knowing Him as Savior!

This book will definitely challenge all of the stereotypes about Jesus that we believe. It definitely puts a new perspective on living like He lived! Fantastic book!

This book changed my life.

I will never view Jesus the same again, and if I slip back into complacency, I will revisit this book so that I will be reminded of who He was and is: the image of the invisible God who sacrificed everything to pursue an undeserving sinner like me.
