I absolutely love EL and freak'n series. Chris wasn't my favourite character but I started to like home quickly when he met jiao. I loved that this story is more about 4 characters the just jiao and Chris. This was different to the other books and I didn't like the possible cheating but the became mute as story developed. Liked that we got to see old characters. we also got to see babies in family. Great HEA

I don't like the 'marriage'. The synopsis comes across as two married people cheat on each other with other people. That's so far from what's real. It puts off an air kind of like when someone explains your relationship but gets it all wrong, and it's done that way to shock you when you're reading, but considering you find out the truth pretty quickly I don't think it was needed.

Sure there was some great bits in this book, but my one main dislike has got to be the double stories. We have he POV of Chris and his mate, and then Sheng (the 'husband') and Chris's cousin. It's switching constantly and there's two sets of makings here and I just felt like they each needed their own book. Even if these were both shorter and Chris and Jill/Jiao ended on a cliffhanger to see if Sheng and Gina would be saved but we got it all in one and it just felt like a bit much at times.

Nothing was particularly shocking in this, it's definitely a fun read like every Eve Langlais book I've ever read. The writings very laugh out loud at times, with lots of sexual banter that can sometimes make me feel like a prude when I blush, and full of sassy women and men head over heels for their girls. The men in these are usually one of two types (player or shy guy - I say shy because they blush but they're also pretty standoffish and grouchy at times) and I really like them (minus the comments made about being gay etc and poor jokes etc) I also was a little weary when reading because it's constantly mentioning these two are Asian. By the second 'Asian guy' I was getting over it fast. Their ethnicity shouldn't be what describes them, especially when Javier and Alejandro were a different ethnicity also, but I legit didn't see it thrown in my face at all besides their delicious skin colour. I'm cool with colours, but I don't particularly think Asian describes a person very well for my visuals, but that might just be me.

This one really fell flat for me and I was sooo surprised. I have really enjoyed every other Eve Langlais book out there, so I'm thinking this one make be a fluke. And for those of you worried about the cheating spouse issue - that gets cleared up quickly so don't worry about it.

Chris was a little boring for me. He was too much like the other shifters in his alpha male, I'm going to take what is mine attitude. He was just a little too cliche. When he finds out his mate is already married, he sets up a grand scheme to try and convince her to leave her husband.

Jiao isn't what you would expect. Although she is a little cat like, we don't really get to see that side of her very often. Her husband is a big stick in the mud though. And while he has his reasons, he really goes overboard with them. When these reasons show up in town with a mission that needs thwarting, the whole town will come together.

But this was another part that just didn't fit. If there was such an awful bad guy that was harming shifters, wouldn't the shifter community have gotten wind of it somehow? I just find the whole bad guy hard to believe.

I'm going to keep going in the series because the next books look great. I think this one just wasn't for me.

2 for 1
Jiao & Chris and Sheng & Gina

I am really liking this series. I was not expecting to have 2 HEA in one book that was pretty Freakn' Awesome!

Chris sure didn't want to be attracted to Jiao but the mating fever wouldn't let him walk away.
And Sheng wanted to protect Jiano so much he was almost blind to his own mating fever.

From the evil jack butt tiring to capture or I should say re capture Jiao and Sheng but coming up again a family will to die for there own.

This was one hell of a great book.

I loved this story. I didn't quite know how this book was going to turn out when I first read the blurb and saw that the heroine was supposedly already married. That kind of freaked me out. But believing in the awesome storytelling of one Eve Langlais I jumped right into this story and was sucked up in it's fast paced storytelling, as well as the depth of all the characters. I enjoyed how this book turned out and am eager to read the next book in this installment.

Lagged in the middle but over all it was pretty good. I find her series are hit or miss with me and this one doesn't quite measure up to the Lion's pride or Kodiak point.

Not as much interaction with the family so not as enjoyable for me. But still good enough to keep me reading and wanting to read the next in the series.
