This can be a bit hard to follow at times, and Zangana's revolutionary/Marxist perspective is a little dogmatic (and that's saying something, coming from me).

That said, overall hers is an interesting and valuable perspective not found in the mainstream media.

Indignant for sure, but too many acronyms and a generally unorganized information dump.

One of the most thought provoking works I have personally read on the Iraqi conflict. It highlights the perspective of women, looking at the intersection of class and conflict, moreover, the insidious co-option of feminism  by the Bush administration, and the international community. It asks why we as a western society would like to save women else where without carefully examining our own gender struggles domestically. City of Widows, is a great step in the Iraqi people reclaiming their narrative and I suggest everyone read it.
