Informative and entertaining! I enjoyed learning about these issues from a sociolinguistic perspective, and Montell has a fun, approachable style.

If you are interested in words and language, you're going to really enjoy this book. It's fascinating. I didn't want to put it down. I learned so much. This is a book I will return to.

Consumed as an audiobook as read by the author. As always, understanding the whys and hows of language is fascinating, especially more contemporary changes and transitions that we may not be completely aware of because we’re living in them and don’t truly acknowledge the importance of the changes. Lots of developmental backstories provided with a wry sense of humor. Words truly gave power - and fascinating stories.
