Shari Lapena has yet again successfully delivered another book. An Unwanted Guest had me invested in the mysterious thriller and questioning every character, wondering who is the culprit behind all the murders. With all the twists and turns happening, I don't think I would have been able to guess who the murderer was! This is a book that will keep you guessing and won't be able to put down. What struck me the most is how Shari managed to write a believable dark background story for each character. I absolutely recommend this book!

Slow but good build up of tension throughout the novel but the ending felt rushed and a bit contrived.

Somewhere between 3 and 4 stars but I’ll lean up. A “who did it” murder mystery which kept me guessing right till the end. A lot of characters to keep track of but it’s fast paced and easy to read.

The plot was basic and flat, not well thought out. The characters had no depth. I couldn’t wait for it to end.
