While I was reading this book, I couldn't help thinking about all the recent negative press the police have had over Ferguson, etc. Jennifer has her own reasons for her negativity toward men in uniforms, but Max is determined to prove to her that the uniform doesn't make the man.

When Jennifer discovers that some of her things have gone missing, she calls the police to make a report. Max is immediately enamored of her, but doesn't understand her antagonistic attitude toward him. He puts some extra effort into finding her missing jewelry and capturing the thief.

The multiple points of view in the story move the plot along well. There's plenty of great tension between the characters, and the action at the end will have you hanging on every word.
