A doll fairy tale transposed over the Holocaust, for middle grade readers. Perhaps good learning about history, though I fear it is repeating itself in our current times which made it even more sad.

A promise to myself that I'll read this before the year ends!
I liked it, unfortunately I didn't make the time to read anything so I want to start this again in December and enjoy it properly

This was a beautiful book; it ripped my heart out. I would give anything to see this story as a watercolor movie in the same style as Wolfwalkers.

Lovely story with a touching background full of courage and sincere affection. I would have loved to see a happier ending but everything was laid out beautifully regardless.
