Very conflicted about what to rate this book. It was compulsively readable, and the premise of the book in general made me want to pick it up fairly quickly. The ending was intriguing, but ultimately abrupt and I wish there was a bit more. I felt as though some of the plot was predictable and wish there was a bit more to the story. Also, it was incredibly hard to support the main character.  Overall, a pretty good read, but left me slightly unsatisfied by the end.

I was in this for the first half, but it just never really went anywhere interesting, especially because the big twist was pretty obvious from the get go.

It's interesting this is marketed as a thriller because it wasn't really thrilling - most of the book lightly touches on some interesting themes of identity and colonisation and privilege but doesn't really do a lot with this, and the Centre was pretty boring while she was there. I wanted it to be funnier or weirder, and instead it was a pretty run of the mill story with a twist that has been done like 1000 times. I started skimming near the end because this could have been like 100 pages shorter and still accomplished the same end result.

Disappointing because I was intrigued at first, but didn't go the direction I was hoping. Would recommend Disorientation instead!
