It took me quite a while to get into it bc it introduced so many characters I had never heard of. But half way through I started to fully and properly enjoy it. Especially Aryns arc was amazing to read. The book also really surprised me at multiple point. It is the first sw book I read I don't really now what happened immediately before or after so I had no idea were this would go. Which was new for me and I needed to adjust but far away from being a bad thing!

Pretty good. The main characters were a bit two-dimensional at the start, but were further fleshed out as the story progressed. I liked the parallelism between Aryn Leneer and Darth Malgus. Both were 'true believers' in their orders, and both were disillusioned by the same. Both also overcame their primary weakness by the end of the novel, while leaving behind the orders that had betrayed them.

I really enjoyed this book and its storyline, I immediately liked Aryn and already knew Malgus for SWTOR, however, I struggled a little, to begin with, with the two other POV characters: Vrath and Zeerid. While it felt slow, to begin with, the book overall is very fast paced. My favourite part is the fight scenes which are very well written.
