3.5 ⭐️ Easy listen. A collection of short reflections on a life not dulled by intoxication and hangovers involved with alcohol. It was a good reminder that I don’t need alcohol to have a good time and enjoy life.

I read this book for Sober October. It's a guide to sober living, with suggestions for activities, recipes, and mental framework for viewing the world sans alcohol.

Enjoyed these slices of life from the authors on their sobriety journey. And the descriptions of non alcohol related food, drinks, and experiences were indeed lush and captivating!

I still like the premise of this, but it didn't feel like it actually needed to be an entire book. I took what I needed from the first few chapters and then it felt repetitive.

The book took a little while to warm up on me, but it hit a rhythm. That was really nice. Some of their observations really landed with me and others not. But even if it wasn’t landing, you weren’t gonna spend that long with it. They landed more than they missed. From someone 549 days sober, I’d recommend it to the newly sober.
