When I got this book, I thought it was about financial abundance but it truly is about having abundance in all aspects of one's life. Not exactly sure why but this book really spoke to me so much that I read it at lightning speed. I've been reading the Abundance prayer each morning and though no mega financial windfall has happened, I have noticed the sudden ease of letting things go that needed to go without my fully realizing it. That in itself is a big win. I am going to restart the book and read it slower this time.

This is a lovely quick easy read that really needs to be apart of every business library. For me, even if I get just one tool per book it was worth the investment. I think we all need a reminder to surrender and let go.

This review is from my second read in March 2021. In 2019, I didn’t really realize I had trouble receiving, so a lot of what I got from the book was getting that process started. On my second read, after more trauma work on myself, I’m invigorated by the inner child work.

This book has one of my favorite approaches to inner child work and I recommend that portion to anyone with c-PTSD.

What I love about the book is that it addresses the toxic parts of manifestation culture and offers an alternative. Personally I don’t believe in any god, even a nebulous “universe” one, and yet it’s psychologically useful for me to accept what is. Believing that things are happening as they’re supposed to has gotten me through some really tough shit, even though I don’t believe there’s anything real behind that.

I really enjoyed this, particularly because I've been thinking more deeply about the yoga sutras / eight limbs of yoga and this book touched on that quite a bit. In the past, I've done the 40-day Prosperity Plan from The Abundance Book a couple of times a year, and I'm excited to put this 8-week program into practice, either alongside that or on its own.
