Tercera relectura: 3.5⭐

OK I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book. I had heard a lot about it and I know I don't like alpha-holes, but I picked it up for a bingo square and ended up really liking it! I thought the world building was top notch and I could overlook some of the more annoying traits of the MMC to end up liking this book a lot and looking forward to reading more in this series.

This is a real weak start, but I feel like that’s the trend of paranormal romances and urban fantasy series. typically, the first book in the series is the weakest. I was just disappointed with this one since I really enjoyed the guild Hunter series. I didn’t like the alpha male love interest and the female love interest changed personalities half way through.

Edit - Somebody over on my youtube channel suggested getting to book 3 would have me much happier about the series... so I shall try again soon.

Having adored Nalini Singh's Archangel Series (AMAZING!!) I was sort of convinced I'd like anything she did... but to be honest, up until 76% of the way through this book, I just didn't care what happened to our lead girl and guy. I couldn't have cared less. I know it was 76% because that's where my Kindle told me I was in the book when my mind went 'oh I hope they get through this'.

It was a bit of a slog through the first three quarters, the information you need to understand about the Psy-Net and connections in the Psy are a little difficult to follow, at least for me, the pack stuff I got, it's shapeshifters, it's 'we pack, we protect'...
