Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

I really enjoyed this book. I found the plot, although not particularly believable, fast paced and enjoyable. The characters were well written and interesting. A good read.

I enjoyed it! Thriller vibe, reasonably gripping and well written. Ending maybe slightly disappointing but also don’t know what I’d have done differently

It felt a little slow to start but otherwise an enjoyable read. Good plot and characters, although there were a lot of them. A well written thriller.

See How They Run

I was not caught up in his book like I thought I would have been. I was disappointed in the story line. They was plenty of action but it did not keep me interested. I was just not into this book. I had high hopes for this book when I started reading it.

This was between 3 and 4 stars for me. I found the characters at the center of the story, a young couple with a new baby, irritating. Intruders in the middle of the night threaten to harm all of them if they don't turn over a package sent to a man named Edward Renshaw. The annoying aspects of this book were the constant near-misses. This is a device that writers should use sparingly. The couple, Alice and Harry, were so inept, I just wanted to shake them. By the finale, I wasn't convinced that all the drama, the trail of dead bodies, and destruction created by the "bad guys" were worth getting back what the bad guys were pursuing. I was also annoyed by inconsistencies that an editor should have caught such as stating the baby slept in a moses basket next to the parents' bed, but then repeatedly referring to the baby in her crib. This story had good ingredients, but felt unpolished at the end.

A young couple's home is broken into and their and their young daughter's lives are threatened. They are dragged into someone else's problems, forced to go on the run separately and unsure of who to trust. Great read plus a character with the same first name as me which never happens (even if she is a nasty piece of work). Will look for more of Tom Bale's work

It's a summer thrill ride!

Highly-recommend this one for lovers of crime thrillers. This story opened with a jolt and I never saw where it was going. It left me suspicious and anxious and unable to trust anyone. Don't start this one at night unless you plan on staying up for all of it!

*4.5* stars

P.S. If you have ever seen Shallow Grave by director Danny Boyle, this story really gave me a similar vibe!

See How They Run starts of brilliantly. I mean, imagine waking up to intruders in your home! It certainly had my attention thats for sure.

Alice and Harry are left very understandably on edge and scared after the incident. The day after they try to go about their day as normal but neither can quite let it go. It isn’t long before things start to take a thrilling and dark turn.

I have to say this is where in the novel I have a slight issue with the story. I personally didn’t feel that the actions of both main characters were believable at this point. It is really hard to say why without going into the story which may spoil it for others that may not have read it, so I won’t say anymore about it other than this was the only thing that slightly spoilt it for me and other than that, it is a really great read.

What follows from this point on is quite a fast paced journey that follows Harry and Alice, who due to circumstances, are separately trying to get to the bottom of who Renshaw is and what he is involved in.

Harry and Alice certainly are not prepared for the secrets that start to unfold. I had so many things running through my head as to what it could be that the intruders and Renshaw could be involved with and I certainly enjoyed finding out.

See How They Run is certainly the ideal novel for readers that love a gripping, fast paced thriller.

Many thanks to Keshini Naidoo at Bookouture for an advanced cop of this book in exchange for an honest opinion.

I thought that the premise of this book was very good, but it quickly became rather ridiculous and far fetched with a lot of violence. Not for me I'm afraid.
