Well, well, well...this was definitely worth the wait! I have been a Showalter fan for a number of years. I have read the Lords of the Underworld books thus far and have been enraptured with the Angels of the Dark. I do have to say after Kane's book I was a little leery. I didn't like that one as much as I wanted to and was slightly nervous about how I was going to feel about this one. I am happy to say that I completely over-reacted and was nervous for no reason.

I loved Thane and have been intrigued by him since he was first introduced. He seemed cold and uncaring towards most people. He lived his life as he wanted to and did as he pleased and with whom he pleased. It was so nice to see him smitten with Elin. To see him changed into a gift giver and rule changer but no less the bad ass angel.

I liked Elin too, sometimes I don't like the female leads as much as the males but I did like her. She was quirky, witty but sometimes a tiny bit annoying. She definitely held her own when paired with the large personalities in the book. And I found myself laughing out loud on occasion.

I also enjoyed seeing some cross-over and the search for the missing lord (and lady) continue. There were also some leads into other story lines that I can't wait to see how they resolve.

I really liked this novel, and I loved Thane and Eiln together (and his two besties!!).
The bromance is strong in this one.
As much as I liked the plot and everything, there is just something that bothers me about the idea love can heal someone completely. Hundreds of years Thane is dealing with his issues in a certain way, and then he meets one waif of a human and it almost instantly disappears completely, to the point he doesn't need pain anymore to find satisfaction. And he barely knows her at this point! People who are broken can heal, no doubt about it, but part of that darkness is always going to remain in them. Having such a clean cut recovery is somewhat of a pet peeve of mine :/

Another amazing story. Wow I love this series (in conjunction with the Lords, of course!) I would love it if she wrote more Angels books.

Darn it, Gena Showalter. I have things to do! I did not want to read two books in two days. Seriously.

I somehow purchased but missed actually reading Gena Showalter’s Angels of the Dark series so when I recently went through and glommed all that’s currently available, I really enjoyed catching up! Burning Dawn is the story of Thane, right hand man to Zacharel, leader of the Army of Darkness. Because of how intertwined this series is I do not recommend starting with this book. When this story starts it really does start right where the last ended so it can be confusing for initially Thane’s actions and behavior. Elin is trapped and knows that her one chance for escape is Thane. What neither want is the attraction that burns deeply between them, especially since they are both hiding secrets. I loved how these two came together, how they built a relationship when neither of them really knew what to do with their attraction. And I really enjoyed how this built on the series story arc. Great read!

Fabulous! Spectacular! Magnificent!

I became addicted with Ms. Showalter’s work, with her Lord’s of the Underworld and she has added to it with her Angels of the Dark series. I love love love Burning Dawn. I feel in love with Angels of the Dark series at the start and have been waiting for the next installment with avid anticipation. Ms. Showalter knows how to create an intriguing world with fantastically unique characters.

Burning Dawn is book three in the Angels of the Dark series and can be read as a stand alone, but best read in series order. It’s non-stop romance and action.

I loved everything about this book. The relationship building. The chemistry between Thane and Elin was scorching. We are taken on their emotional journey. Thane turned out to be a much more deeper character then I ever thought and Elin is hilarious once she comes into her own. Their where parts that just made my heartache, but also parts that made me laugh. I loved the camaraderie between Thane and his two besty-best friends and Elin and her girlfriends where so much fun. I enjoyed the insight into Thane’s club and the employees that work there. You see a family kind of atmosphere. I can’t wait for the guy’s stories as well as the rest of the angel's in the Army of Disgrace

Ms. Showalter has created a seductive read, with sexy angels. It’s an extraordinary, phenomenal, and emotional journey into the Angels of the Dark.

As excited as I was for thane's book, it fell a bit short. I loved it, but I just wanted more.
