I loved book 1 and although book 2 was enjoyable it didn't do it for me. I love the stakes and the magic but I was kind of feeling empty. I'm waiting for book 3, the finale.

I remembered reading the first book so clearly so as soon as I picked this one up I knew what was happening. I love a memorable series that sticks with you. I really enjoyed this instalment of the series, I am looking forward to the final book to see how it is all wrapped up.

This instalment was spoken in the perspective of Dev and Lincoln. I thought this was interesting as we got to read about other characters in the series. This brought a lot of depth to the series. I enjoyed it because we still got to read about Coralee and Ryder but also getting an insight of another two well developed characters. The chapters alternated between Dev and Lincoln so this was easy to follow. I found their relationship very interesting to read about, there was a lot of self discovery of both of them throughout this book.

In this book we get to learn more about the elementals and the guardians. When they visit a new place to prevent another stone from being taken, we get to meet even more people and they introduce us to more knowledge about the world. I enjoyed the journey they went on in this book and there was the element of mystery at the end ready for the final book in the trilogy.

I thought the book was written well and the plot was well thought out. There was the element of fantasy which I loved and it wasn’t made complicated. This series is easy to follow and keep up with. Instead of having a ‘what happened in the first book’ section, the author done something different. As this book was spoken in the perspective of a different character, Dev actually gave the reader a quick few paragraphs to keep us up to date with what was happening. I thought this was a good way to ease readers back into this series without having a whole chapter for it.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a YA fantasy. It is honestly such an amazing trilogy!

Such an enjoyable read! I loved reading from Dev and Lincoln’s view. It brought another depth to the story to have it told from another couples point of view. We still got plenty of Coralee and Ryder too. Morgan was an interesting bonus to this book. I’m surprised that I actually quickly liked her character. I’m hoping the next book will be from her point of view. If not I’m at least hoping we get plenty of her character. Honestly, I love all the characters from this series. I’m excited to see how this story wraps up and I can’t wait to read the next book!
