A fun quick read. Best for those who love mecha and giant robot battles. I know that this was originally a short story for the "Silk and Steel" anthology but ballooned past the word limit. The bones of that anthology's prompt are still there and it reads very much like a short story- quick sketches and handwaving more than detailed moments. But I can see why Django Wexler didn't want to cut it down to short story length, it does need a little bit of extra runtime to allow both the fights and the romance to develop. There was a bit of repetition that could have been edited out though. I don't know if I'll re-read it but it was entertaining and I do love the worldbuilding aspect of the network and data corruption. That was really nicely done.
Moderate: Murder
