Read just the short stories that were for book club; felt that the selection was sufficient. The Bridge over the Mist was probably the one I'll be thinking about for the longest time, but the story as a whole could have been about 15-20 pages shorter, in my opinion.

Great short story collection - really enjoyed dipping in and out of these stories. Of course there were some that I enjoyed more than others but overall I just really enjoy Johnson's writing.

This is a wonderful book. If I was just ranking the first story - 26 Monkeys and the Abyss. Memorable and fun, especially for those who like a little fantasy. The last story has made me sensitive to aways treating my dog very nicely.

I loved this sooo much! It is a wonderful, extremely diverse, short story collection. Not one of the stories bored me; they were all interesting and fascinating on different levels. Most of them included either magical realism elements, science fiction elements or an otherworldly setting. And, off course, animal characters. If you like weirder fiction I would highly recommend this.
