Parallel and converging first-person narratives--Tess Wycheski and Leo Florida, in Sandusky, Ohio during the 1970s and 1980s--structure this well-written novel by Greensboro writer, Quinn Dalton. Tess, the young bowling prodigy, is the protagonist, with Leo, her mentor, just slightly in a supporting role, as the story ranges back in time to draw together subplots involving Tess's father and Leo's complex relationship with his brother and his brother's wife.
