This had an uneven start—the time jumps were a little confusing. But oh the longing. And the exquisite detail. Really enjoyed this take on Cinderella.

3.5. Mostly due to the timeline switches and the whole issue of being engaged to another woman while in love with the heroine. But I do like the occupations of the characters and the writing style.
I feel that historical romance set in any place could have more politicians. Especially with those set in England, House of Lords and House of Commons gives many opportunities for main characters/side characters occupations and interests. I do also enjoy that the female character is extraordinary in her field, which is especially great in a historical romance.
The Cinderella framing was okay, but was maybe overused slightly.

It took a long while to get into the story and when I did, I found Lizzie and Will Marsden more interesting. Private Arrangements is a better read.

I've always enjoyed a historical romance that took me out of the ballroom and gave me a new prospective. This novel did not let me down. I loved Verity's story and her strength through her struggles. I thought that the hero, Stuart, had great strength of character and just enough rigidness to provide some conflict.

Wonderful couple that connected through the get go and a great romp on the way to a HEA. Good read!

This book had so much potential but was too confusing. The secondary romance of the Marsden brother and Lizzie was very very good. Love the euphemisms of symphonic concert vs music hall. So funny and teasingly "delicious". On to the next Marsden brother who I hope is as entertaining as William.

So, this year, I am trying to link my books - how do I get from one to another. I have not always found this easy, but it is fun to do.

This link would make one of the authors happy, but I am not sure how the other would feel about it. I was looking for online reviews for The Gastronomical Me and I ran across a review written by Sherry Thomas (http://dearauthor.com/book-reviews/guest-review-gastronomical-me-by-sherry-thomas/). I was so taken with Thomas' review of Fisher's book that I decided to find her book, Delicious.

This novel was lots of fun. I liked the food, the brothers and, of course, the happy ending. I am very glad that I discovered Sherry Thomas and her romances. I am sure I will read more of them.

As far as Fisher goes, I would hope she would appreciate the connections between food and romance and her memoir and Thomas' romance. I don't know though since I have no feeling for what Fisher read for fun.

If you are a romance reader and have not encountered Sherry Thomas, start here. I don't think you will be disappointed.
