Read this as a manuscript for a lit scout. Possibly the lowest rating I gave of the books I read for him. I loved the concept, especially being set in Ireland, but so many things fell short for me. I found the writing bad (which I only seem to notice when it's extremely good or bad). The love story was forced and unbelievable. Didn't much care for those two leads either. Some of the side chracters were alright, but then the technicalities of the supernatural element bogged down the plot. It was very disappointing.

I really enjoyed this novel. I am a sucker for romantic fantasy. I just wish she would release the third book! I read this 4 years ago and I am still praying that one day she will release the last one because I would like to know how it ends.

When this book started, I was really enjoying it. Ireland, romance, potential magic. Then it because like every other book I've read lately. The love is instant. I get that attraction is instant but the whole "I'm home when I'm with you" at first kiss annoys me. The person learns a big secret and is okay with it instantly. That happens, bad things start to happen. Same old thing. And not nearly enough things about Ireland. And there are MORE books in the series. Ugh. I won't finish the series.

I had high hopes for this book but in the end it felt uneventful and slow.

Carrier Trilogy by Leigh Fallon

Now I loved this book but it reminded me of Twilight.

I get the whole forbidden love thing. Don't get mew wrong I love it. But Megan towards the end got really depended on Adam and it annoyed me. (I think more the fact that I don't have a Boyfriend and that book characters do, I tend to just hate them for it >.<)

The idea for this book was original. Though I read books about the four elements, this wasn't like the others. So much history behind the marked and Royal bloods. I am still reeling from it!

I don't usually do this but I really liked the characters from this book:

Adam ~ Dark sexy and Mysterious. I love his personality and how he is protective of Megan and his family. Though rumors about his family he goes to school like he rules the place.

Megan ~ American born girl, who was marked after her mothers death. From the first day she started at her new high school she fell helplessly in love with Adam. Though she was depended on Adam, she was stubborn and strong headed.

Aine ~ She was my favorite. She reminds me of Alice Cullen, a cute little pixie with a black bob and a sweet little face. She lightens the mood and several times I laughed at things she said. Her and Adam are twins and you see their connection through the way they torture each other.

Raine ~ I don't have much to say about him. I just a picture a big muscular "collage student"

All in all this book was great and if I could trade places with Megan, I would in a heart beat. Now it is time for me to go off and find my Adam.

I liked this book. I like the twist and fresh idea. However, I did see some similarity in the bond and interactions between Megan and Adam, to that of Bella and Edward. It felt very familiar.

I really disliked this story: http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lxr6jyQrLb1r3zat8.gif

The idea itself was a good one, but I somehow felt it to be a little unoriginal. It reminded me of the equally bad story plot of the movie the Seeker. I don't know why, it just did. I felt like the characters had no depth. They were just THERE. I completely disliked the main character. She was annoying to me. I couldn't connect with her as a reader at all. I felt no sympathy for the things she went through. I didn't really feel much at all. And I think that's important for a story to capture you in that way, to make you feel things for the characters or give you a message/theme from the book. Those, in my opinion, are important elements to a story. Carrier of the Mark, to me, just didn't have them. And I have to say I am thoroughly surprised to know that this book was worthy of a sequel. But, hey! Maybe the series will get better in the rest of the trilogy. I, though, will not be reading to find out.

I fell in Love with this book, I was super surprised when she was the one that made the tornado and I was also a little confused on how she is of Royal decent and also a Carrier of the Mark, and I was maybe as frustrated as she was when the guy who kidnapper her almost killed Adam. GRRRR! and when the ending when their powers mix is soooooooo ADORABLE! <3

Can't remember if I liked this when I last read it years ago, but I can say that this book isn't worth my time now.

Look at that gorgeous cover! I love the effects that the art department did with it and as you read the book, you will realize the significance in all of it as well. When I first started hearing about this book, I was excited to read a new author. If you are being talked about in the book blog world, you know your book is going to be popular. So when I had the chance to read and review it, I was excited and thrilled to read it early!

If I had to make a comparison for this book, I would have to narrow it down to two books combined. It had the feel of the House of Night series by P.C Cast and the teen angst of Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I loved how the author captivated me with the Irish settings and the mystical supernatural that she created within the pages. While Adam and Megan are the main characters of the book, the author made sure to include the supporting characters in a way that makes me anxious to read more about them in future books. My favorite character by far was Adams older brother, Rian. I can't wait to see his story unfold in a book!

While some of the story was naive and predictable, the story surrounding those parts made up for it. I liked the progression of the supernatural and the relationships. At first I thought the romance moved a little too quickly, but the author does explain why it could happen so fast.

Again, another new author for me to follow and keep on my radar for future books. I am excited to know about another young adult debut author that has made her mark in the genre!
