The concept was intriguing, the athmosphere was deliciously unsettling and the art was absolutely gorgeous. The artist and the colorist worked incredibly well together.

I really enjoyed the first half. It took time to establish the world and set the mood.

Unfortunately, the ending felt like reading a brief summary of the events. I wanted it to slow down.

I didn't know this book's horror was about sexual assault and I think it should be specified on the comic. I didn't like that the monsters were never explained and that all the plot was summed up in one volume. Also I'd like to add the fact that the art is really bad, it doesn't feel adequate for a comic like this one.
I ovehyped myself about these comics and I regret it.

The Low, Low Woods absolutely took my breath away. The setting of an old coal-mining town in poor, rural Pennsylvania was so well-chosen and so integral to the story. That aspect blew my mind. The art style is beautiful and haunting. El and Octavia are both compelling characters, and their main conflict makes sense and jives well with the rest of the plot. 

The twist is heartbreaking, but I gasped as all the pieces clicked into place. Even though it is a fantastical story, it is incredibly REAL. 

I loved this so much I'm almost incoherent. Go read it!

Loved this! It's a really thrilling comic set in my state! It was so captivating and atmospheric. I love Machado's writing and this just made me love her storytelling all over again.
