quality sequel. constant fighting between mc and love interest over the same thing is kinda annoying. loved the scene where she got battle ready with the iron and salt.

The ending was so rude. But still such a good book. Twists – some were predictable, but the others that weren't, WOW AND OUCH.

Wow I absolutely love this series!! These books just keep getting better and better!! I love Pearl and Finn and their crazy plots and all the seelie/unseelie faerie troublemakers!! I cannot wait to read book 3 asap!!

I do have some problems with this book but they are minimal things like regularly repeating phrases over and over and over and over... you get the point. The whole “and laughing and laughing and laughing” thing seriously got to me.

(Also the whole Pearl repeating her mistakes continuously, such as never telling Finn anything but getting mad when he doesn’t tell her something irritates me.) (Along with the whole ‘i’m not the one they’re after’ ‘i’m not special’ ‘i’m a disappointment’ cry fest she has every chapter).

But damn can I tell you how REFRESHING it is to read a sequels where the love interests don’t automatically get together. I mean, Pearl (for all her faults) does not make her life revolve around the thought of making someone her boyfriend. REFRESHING IN YA BOOKS.

AND OMG THAT ENDING WHAAAAAT.

(I ranted a lot but I really enjoyed the story, plot & characters. Swoon Finn, swoon.)

Not as good as the first, but good enough to keep me engaged and look for the 3rd when it is released.
A little repetitive with the protagonist's thought processes. The interior monologue which worked so well in the first book became tired and annoying in Ironheart. However, at least the characterisation was consistent! Plenty of action to drive the plot and it left you with a cliffhanger for the next in the series, like all good trilogy texts! Recommended for a light-hearted, escapist read. Can definitely see YA audiences enjoying it.
