This is when the series starts to get really plot heavy and the silly schemes don't outweigh the overarching plot. It's a pretty important transition and it's made almost seamlessly, just like everything else in this series. The only thing that knocks this volume down a star is there's a huge backstory dump, which I never love in stories. Even that was handled well, considering.

Also, after this book I stop remembering what happens next since I only reread the first three a bunch as a kid, so that's exciting!
