Hugely ambitious and very well produced, but the stories not quite a match for me. Probably aimed at a younger audience, though. I could see some nerdy kids enjoying this.
This "book" is really a box containing a kids comic, a set of trading cards, a training manual for Black Mask agents, a newspaper, a magazine, a file folder with an incedent report, etc. Just look at all this stuff:
The point is that as you read all this different material you start to see that not all of it is trustworthy. So, it is sort of teaching young readers to read between the lines. Potentially a valuable lesson, though it can also lead people to trust nothing or to seek out and believe the wildest conspiracy theories.
There is no doubt that Jon Chad is talented. But this one isn't for me. Rounding-up my score, though, because of the scope and ambition.
