I really liked the first 2/3rds of the book - I enjoyed the mystery of exploring the town and how Anders was involved in the whole thing. The supporting characters surrounding Elsy (both in the town and the book-club) were enjoyable and I liked seeing her interact and encourage/challenge them. Once the ending started coming together, I feel like the book lost a little momentum, honestly; felt like it wasn't a satisfying ending for the build-up of the book. There were a few twists that you weren't sure who was going to stay or go and who was going to end up with whom but just felt rushed or unfinished almost. (The irony!) Overall, an enjoyable read with an okay, not great, ending.

IYKYK: "Though she tackles the mundanity of her life with aplomb, nothing happens to Eileen Merriweather. Angst-ridden backstory told in deeply regrettable prose. An utterly skippable read."

The concept of this was so different and unique. It took a little bit to get drawn in, but I still loved it! I think I'd absolutely love being "stuck" in a town I knew and loved from a book series.

Honestly, I’m so surprised at the low-ish goodreads rating for this one because I absolutely ADORED it. It is simply one of the cutest, coziest books I’ve read in a long, long time. Ashley Poston has stolen my entire heart with this book and I really don’t care if I get it back.

This is a book about books. A Darcy-esque main love interest. A little sprinkle of magical realism. Small town charm out the wazoo. Think Gilmore Girls and Schitt’s Creek vibes. Meaningful friendships and conversations. It was just soooo cute that it made me cry. I loved pretty much everything about it. I don’t even know what else to say!!!!!

The concept is so much fun. I remember putting this on my TBR so fast. I just didn't connect with the characters. It's a shame.
