A fun cute story. And then listening to Kristen Bell read it and talk about why she chose this one gave all the fuzzy good feels!

As a lover of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein , this books was hilarious and so enjoyable to read. The rhyming so well-done, too!

We're all going to ignore the fact that I'm reading middle-grade and children's books all month, okay?

That being said, this was heckin' adorable and I regret nothing!

Awe, this was such a super cute story!

I watched and listened to Kristen Bell read this and she did the voices and narration wonderfully. (Which is NO shock since she narrated for Veronica Mars and Gossip Girl, like she has strong voiceover skills!)

Anyways, the story itself is sweet in that the adopting happens with a different species, but the duck lives that platypus something fierce. It had so many sweet lessons for little ones and the imagery was vivid and engaging.

This is my new favourite Frankenstein adaptation in any medium. I am in love with this book. Usually I take my preschool kids' opinions into account before reviewing picture books (they thought it was good but were not blown away) but I don't care whether anyone else in the world likes this book. "Grumpy duck dad Frankenstein" is so completely up my alley as a book premise that I'm frankly shocked that I didn't write this myself. This book is adorable and I love it. If you or your child likes spooky stuff, ducks, or platypi, please check out this book.
