This was super hot, and definitely pushed the envelope. The plot was fine, some aspects were unnecessary in my opinion - they were distraction than anything else. I know this sounds weird, but I could get past the name Rita. It feels like a retired librarian's name, so I struggled to visualize her. I will definitely check out the sequel.

I recommend to erotica fans looking for something only slightly off the beaten path.

4.5 stars for this very kinky novel about a woman trying to pass the initiation rites of the Mount, an exclusive BDSM club. She's got two purposes: reuniting with the sexy man she met in the dark, and writing an expose to jumpstart her journalism career.

Rita's a daring main character - she's not shy about experimenting sexually, which is really important in a novel of this type. She seemed capable of holding her own among all the other dominant characters - and one element I really liked was that no one seemed entirely set on being dominant, they seemed to switch it up a fair amount.

There's no sense of shame about any of the very kinky boundaries being pushed, and I liked that as well. It was easier to enjoy the novel when everyone in it was enjoying themselves too.

This one is definitely for the open-minded - there's a lot of variety in the various scenes that take place, but I think it's pretty rewarding!

This book was a little too much for me, and that's kind of surprising. When I read erotic romance novels, I want more sex than plot typically. And this book has that, and then some. It has all kinds of kinky different sex scenes, but it was just too much. I think of this was a shorter story, it would be ok. But it's taking too long to get to the answer of "what exactly does membership at The Mount" mean. Also, I've never particularly been a fan of instant!love like what happens between Edward and Rita. I do love, though, that she's from Seattle and moved to London. Probably because I am also from Seattle and am dying to move to London!

Anyways, this would be so much better if it was shorter and got to the point faster.

Sex - you bet, romance - nope.

From the description I thought this would be a "girl introduced to BDSM and pushed past her boundaries" story, but instead you get sex and angst and sex and a thin plot and sex and who are these people and sex. All of this is topped off with a deus ex machina that makes everything all better, the end.

Ugh.

I’ve never read Erotica before but I had this sent to me to review through this site. I enjoyed it, it’s not the type of book that can be read start to finish, for me it was more of a dip in, dip out book. I loved the characters, especially Rita and Edward but some of the characters infuriated me a bit.

Good sexy fun in the book with very explicit, descriptive acts going on, It felt quite naughty just reading it, I think the author must have a very vivid imagination to come up with some of the things. A perfect book to read with the other half in bed. I would recommend it.
