Holy COW!!!! Seriously, this was a total OMG OMG OMG read for me!!!

So each of these amazing authors wrote a separate chapter in this book ..... which would almost make you wonder how the stories flow together. However, when reading this book, the people in the firehouse flow in and out of each others lives like a family. And we get a little glimpse into each member of this hard working family.

The stories aren't always sunshine and roses, but then again, I gave up reading fairy tales a while ago. However, there are amazing fairy godmothers and godfathers, helpers (dwarfs), an evil monster, and the eternal hope in here too. Oh yeah, and a LOT of love, laughs, and heart warming yumminess.

Some of the characters you want more of, and others you may recognize already. However, this amazingly hard working family, needs more love and support at times. I did meet a few that became my favorites, but let's be honest, we all have a favorite person in a family you know.

Grab this amazing read and fall for some hot, hard working, and crazy members of this fire house. Oh yeah, and it's all for charity ...... means you can even help someone else just by reading a little dirty fun ;)

Giddy squeals of contentment and over eager excitement are heard throughout my neighborhood as I read this waiting for the kids to get off the bus. Followed by odd looks while fanning myself over the steamy parts...
So it is probably not in your best interest to read it in public.

Hook and Ladder 69 is filled with fun, steamy, and intriguing stories from some of my favorite authors and a few new to me. It was a wild ride and I long to read more.

Bunch of short stories ranging from crazy to sweet. Funny to sad. With friends to lovers. Second chance romances. M/M romance. Some I loved some I didn't. But overall 3 * rating and it's for a good cause.

Hook & Ladder 69: Eighteen Authors...One sexy firehouse
Charity anthology. 18 related short stories.

I am not usually an anthology person. I need to know how much I have left and when my story will end. I feel the need to read every story in an anthology, and many books like this are usually just filled with teasers. This was not the case in Hook & Ladder 69. Each story (I think except one) was a full and complete story, which left me wanting more, but not because they were incomplete, but because I was really enjoying them!

Hook & Ladder 69 is a little different than most anthologies. Each story relates to each other a bit, so it reads more like a regular book. It all focuses on the emergency workers connected to Fire Station 69. Two stories were completely related and must be read together, but the rest focused on different couples, but there are always mentions and cameos of characters from other stories. Especially Oz. Love him!

Hook & Ladder 69 had some sweet stories, some panty melting HOT stories, some m/m stories, some emotional stories and some funny stories. I loved the variety and how they all tied into the firehouse. When I began to read, I took notes on each story with the intent of reviewing and rating them individually, but quite honestly, I enjoyed them all almost the same. The first story, Five Alarm, by Emme Burton may have been my favorite, and it got me sucked into the book. But the romances brought a little of everything like second chance romances (a few), brother's best friend, single mom, mystery, excitement, and more. I think I wrote a note at the end of each one that said "I want more!" yet they didn't leave you hanging.

I gobbled up the whole thing in a day, and now I have a whole bunch of new authors to check out!

I am not going to do my regular likes and dislikes for this book, because it just doesn't work for an anthology. Basically, I liked everything, especially that profits go to charity.

Excerpt

We made out like drunken, horny teenagers all the way to his apartment building, in the elevator, and down the hall.

Mitch slammed me into his door, never parting his lips from mine as he fumbled for his keys in his pocket.

The door flew open behind me and I went flying into a bare apartment straight into boxes—falling, crashing, screaming, embarrassed.

“Holy fuck are you ok?” Mitch grabbed me, pulling me into his strong arms as he laughed a little. “Well, I guess I need new dishes.”

I gripped his shoulders as he kissed my neck, pressing me against his newly painted wall. “Sorry?”

“Don’t be. I hated those pieces of shit anyway.”

Mitch unclasped my bra, letting me shimmy out of it and throw it across the room. Then he put his hand in the middle of my chest, pressing me against the wall before dropping to his knees as he yanked my skirt up and pulled my pink thong down around my ankles.

His hot breath danced over my soaking clit as my knees started to quake. With his free hand, Mitch traced circles over my inner thigh as he gently let his tongue glide over my swelling bud. I cried out from the simplest caress.

“Just wait, babe. You ain’t felt nothing yet.” Mitch’s words were barely audible as his flattened tongue spread my folds.

I held on tight, panting and moaning uncontrollably with my eyes slammed shut.

“God, you taste so good.” He breathed right before forcefully shoving his fingers into my wetness and in an instant I was done. My orgasm built up and crashed around me within seconds and I was a puddle on the floor.

Mitch scooped me until into his arms, kissing me sweetly. “I told you, love, there’s still more to come.”
