I really liked this and I'm going to read the next one. Unfortunately the editing needs work. Extra words, out of place actions and confusing quotation marks tripped me up at every turn. As far as the plot it was a breath of fresh air in the zombie genre. I didn't always understand or agree with the choices that the main character, Hella, made but I liked her anyway.

We meet Hella at the start of the story comfort eating after her boyfriend accused her of cheating on a test. All of a sudden, her life changes forever as the zombie apocalypse happens.

I thought this book had an interesting spin on the zombies. Hella discovering she had a zombie (or zero, as she calls them) killing virus was a good idea, even if she did rely on it too much. Huck and Hella have a bit of a romantic attachment going on, but I wonder if Zeke will get dragged into a love triangle?

I did enjoy this book and I cannot wait to find out what happens in the second and third books.
