Amazing book, I definitely want to read more by these authors after reading their short stories. This entire book was moving and inspiring. For those who aren't marginalized, it is a fantastic window into what that's like. And for those who are, it's great to read different ways of examining marginalization from different categories, from gender to race and religion.

This was a really fantastic collection of stories and poems. I did not take notes on the individual stories, but I can say I particularly enjoyed the contributions by Laura Silverman, Darcie Little Badger, and L.D. Lewis. I think this is a great collection for any young adult (or older adult!) who is interested in reading, thinking about, or discussing social justice and what their role as an advocate for social justice can mean. We will definitely be including it in our school library.

Take the Mic is a YA anthology of short stories about everyday resistance, something we need now more than ever. I loved some stories more than others, but overall this book will make a huge impact on students and the current movement we are in with #blacklivesmatter

A great collection of short stories all high schools should have. I like how the last short story is a continuation of the first, both written by Darcie Little Badger.

Perhaps the most compelling story is “As You Were.” To do THAT for a promposal is disgusting.

Such an incredible book! Even though it's composed of short stories, I found myself connecting with each character and rooting for them. The stories are incredible and show how resistance can be done on various levels. All of the characters are teenagers, so it also showcases how folks of any age can have an incredible impact on the world around them.
