In the second book in this series, we get to join Caitlin as she begins her journey as an FBI agent at the BAU! We meet Rainey, one of my favorite characters so far with her sass. I loved this book just as much as the first. It was also fun for me because the case they were working was going on in my neck of the woods (San Antonio)!
Inspired by Ted Bundy, we follow Caitlin as she tracks a charming and handsome killer. Again, I won’t give away too much so you all can be just as surprised as I was!

My Rating System: 4.5 rounded down to 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ticked most boxes LOVED IT but…!!!
Book inspired by real-life serial killer Ted Bundy.
Caitlin Hendrix is back and is newly appointed as FBI Special Agent at Quantico. Saturday night is the most fun night of the week, but in Southern Texas women are disappearing without a trace. The latest victim has been taken from her residence in the middle of the night and her baby is left screaming with the door wide open when her husband comes home.
Caitlin and the team are invited to assist on the case fearing there is a serial killer lurking the streets. After a grim discovery of two bodies that have been lain in the woods in a white nightgown, blood stained with Polaroids of other victims surrounding the dead, the team must build a profile to help catch this sick UNSUB.
The profile leads Caitlin to focus in on one man: a charismatic, confident, successful professional who on the surface seems like the poster boy for all things good. Is Caitlin fixating on the wrong person or is this suspect a wolf in sheep’s clothing waiting to attack??
So the minute I finished book one I immediately picked up book two and dug in!! I wasn’t disappointed. [a:Meg Gardiner|61237|Meg Gardiner|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1581817751p2/61237.jpg] can write like a demon… seriously sick and twisted but excellent story telling, giving the reader enough information to form a picture and also keeping you wanting more and more and MORE!!!

Meg Gardiner has a way with words. I am hooked from the first page and am upset any time I have to put it down. I am so on edge when I am reading a suspenseful scene and I love that. Caitlin is such a great character. She has traumatic history that comes up in the Unsub series, but we see over and over again just how badass she is by overcoming it.
