I'm a huge fan of this series and Holiday on Ice was a quick, easy to read and steamy installment.

This is the lowest rating I have given to a book in the Play by Play series so far. Hopefully I won't have to rate any more of them this low. In fact, I've realized I seem to be a bit more harsh on the hockey centered books. Maybe because I know more about hockey so pick up on any discrepancies more easily?

Really the low rating has a lot to do with those discrepancies. First, the use of the word score. I noticed it in the other books but it didn't annoy me as much. Maybe there's more talk of the actual games in this book, I don't know. A hockey player does not say he got a score. It's a goal. The average shift in a professional hockey game is less than a minute. Not several minutes. And the final score to most of these games is astronomical by hockey standards. Being that this is actually a novella and very short, these little things added up quickly.

The fact that this is a short book means the story needs to be hurried along. But there is a scene that Stella jumps to a conclusion so quickly that it made my head spin...and made me kind of dislike her. Especially since I really like Trick a lot.

Although I'm a huge hockey fan, I have to admit that I'm glad none of the upcoming books are about a hockey player. I like this series too much to end up being disappointed again.

I do love this series, and I LOVED Trick. He was a great hero, however, our heroine got on my nerves a little. Stella did that jumping to conclusions thing, and not communicating thing that is so popular in romances, and I think she did it too much for my liking. Overall, I did find this book entertaining, but I attribute that mostly to my love of Trick. Seriously, the tree topper, the back rub, the foot rub, all the sweet things he did. Stella! You protest too much!!! I just wanted to smack her.
