Andrew Fukuda’s The Hunt trilogy is one of those trilogies that grabbed my attention because it mixed two things I really enjoy together – a dystopian society and vampires. I find such books can be hit or miss, yet I had high hopes for this series. After all, there seemed to be so many people enjoying this one.

If I’m being completely honest, my three-star rating is on the generous side. I rounded up because I was interested in seeing how things ended, but I was never blown away by any of the books. They seemed to lack the punch that would have pushed them over the edge, that little extra something that would have made me fall in love with them. Add in the fact that I was left disappointed with the ending, and this is a series that was okay for some quick enjoyment but not one I’ll be going back to.

I’m sure there are many who will enjoy this one, but it was not what I had hoped for.
