Down-to-earth, bittersweet and very life affirming. The characters are so well written you feel like you know them, but I'm not sure I'd want to know Dexter. Lost a star because the pace wasn't quite right for me and I can't bring myself to like Dex.

I watched the movie years ago so I knew the main spoiler for the plot. Did I still get emotional and feel my heart sink? Yes, yes I did. I fell in love with Em and Dex through this book, I don’t think a book has ever made me feel as much as One Day did. Once I finished it, I couldn’t stop thinking about it and it’s probably a book I’ll never forget.
