I enjoy the Tracey Crosswhite series tremendously. This book was a little convoluted and at times hard to follow - not in a good who dine it kind of way. But I almost think that was the point bc it kept the detectives guessing. And I have to admit I wasn’t expecting
the Portland detective to be the killer in it for the $
.

Wow! What a book. A few very well done twists, although I guessed the one at ca. 50%, saw that coming. This is a top-notch-page-turner, highly recommended. And can be read as a standalone, as some background from the previous books is re-hashed, without being boring.
Although this is a long read, it did not feel this way, and the few days it took me where mostly spend reading, with other tasks falling by the wayside.
The next book in the series is already pre-ordered.

I thought I had this one figured out, but the ending was a definite surprise! Well done 👏🏻This will be a favorite in the Tracy Crosswhite series.

This is the fourth installment in exciting Tracy Crosswhite series by Robert Dugoni.

Tracy Crosswhite is called to investigate when a dead girl’s body is found in a crab pot. During the investigation, the woman’s identity is revealed to be Andrea Strickland who went missing a few days ago from a hiking trip with her husband. The story is narrated from interesting alternate views, Tracy’s investigation and Andrea’s journal. Tracy who is still haunted by her sisters murder takes this case personally and is driven along with her team to find Andrea’s killer.

This book started a little slow for me but it soon picked up pace and the story was interesting with some twists and turns. A thoroughly enjoyable fast read and looking forward to the next one in the series.

Many thanks to Thomas & Mercer & NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

I had high hopes for this book. It started out with an interesting case, the team was working together again, there was some inter-departmental politics going on, and Tracy and Dan were moving forward with their relationship but it wasn't a major focal point of the book.

Then at about 80% through, things stopped working for me and it ended up being a frustrating read with a disappointing reveal. I ended up rereading sections hoping I missed something but I hadn't. There was a lot of potential for this to be the best book in the series but it didn't end up that way. Not for me, anyway.

I received a copy of the book from the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first Dugoni, but it definitely won't be the last. I look forward to reading the first three Tracy Crosswhite books and any subsequent ones.

This book begins with a young man checking on some illegal lobster traps in Puget Sound. When he pulls them up, he discovers a body. Tracy Crosswhite and her team are called in to investigate. The book alternate its chapters between the detective investigation and flashbacks telling the story of the woman that is supposed be in trap.

As with many mysteries many things are not what they seem and red herrings abound. The ending was, in my opinion, beyond satisfactory.
