Alright, so, years ago, Eragon was my top favorite book. Not unusual, since I had-still have- a deep love for dragons, and whether it was 'Eragon' or 'Dragon Rider' (by Cornelia Funke)... I lugged those books around with me and reread my favorite bits.
Not so long ago, I got my hands on Eldest. Alright. I was still in total love with Eragon, so Eldest wasn't bad at all. I was, of course, furious at the ending (spoilers, so I won't say why. ;) ). It was when I got half way through Brisingr I just couldn't finish that book. I couldn't finish the series.
The Inheritance Cycle has a lot of love, and lots of not-so-much-love. I was, at first, seriously in love with the books. And by books, I mean it could have stopped at Eragon, and I would have had my heart into the entire book only.
But it didn't stop at the first book. it kept going. Kept going... Nothing wrong with a long book or a series, mind you!
I understand the story line kept going, you know, different struggles and things not finished... But I lost interest. I lost interest in the series because of what the author did to his characters. They, to me, lost their 'umph'. The whole story kind of lost it's 'muchiness', you may call it.
To me, it just seemed like the character's were shortened and lots of stuff was just dumped... I didn't like what happened with most of the characters at all.
I loved Eragon (book one), but after that, stuff just went downhill. It's not a series I enjoy anymore, though it was nice while it lasted. :)

Obviously written by a young man with great skill, but not a lot of life experience. I can't wait to see ehat he writes later in life.

Facinating Stories. It's like a blending of the Harry Potter Series put into the Climate and Scope of Lord of the Rings. Great books for young and old. Skip the movie. It's so different it's not worth seeing.

Overall this book was okay and the writing style also it was bit dull. It was it was too slow paced and I would have like bit more world building. I didn't like cover and I think at charachers needed to be more flash out.

cannot believe it has taken me two years to get around to reading the second book in the Inheritance Cycle. The book begins with Eragon and Saphria traveling to Ellesmera to complete their dragon rider training amongst the elves. But while they try to fit decades of training in to mere weeks and months, we learn about Eragon 's cousin Roran as he attempts to protect the mountain community from the Empire. While I found the book enjoyable to read but is pales in comparison to other fantasy novels. Having said that the book was an easy read, and a great sequel to the first book.

"Life is both pain and pleasure. If this is the price you must for the hours you enjoy, is it too much?"

By far my favourite characters are Arya and Saphria, they are more than happy to put Eragon in his place, which needs to happen often enough for it to create two brilliant - dare I say - sassy characters. Well sort of. I am not sure whether I will bother with the next books as it was not compelling enough to make me want to read it over other books on my reading list.
