Man Bud was diabolic! But fortunately, he got what was coming to him in the end. This was a good read and I am glad that Ira Levin pioneered this type of genre in reading, it's my favorite!

If that ending was the first ending like that in all of fiction then I am totally impressed. Read like Shakespeare lol

The vibes and structure of this novel are top-notch... some strokes of genius here specially with the suicide note... did the villain not find any other target, or did he have tunnel vision? Factoring sheer luck in, the plot is still a bit too improbable for my liking...

3.5 stars ❤️

A Kiss Before Dying written by Ira Levin and narrated by George Newbern & Rory Barnett is an awesome vehicle to bring this incredible work of fiction into the 21st century while retaining its autheentic, original magnificence

The narration is sublime, absolutely perfect to reflect the era and storyline and utterly captivating

I read A Kiss Before Dying many, many years ago and enjoyed it immensely then, so to see it as an audiobook, I snapped it up and I was so glad I did! You know when narrators really, really "get" a book and bring it to life? This is absolutely the case here. If ever you want to have a great introduction to audiobooks, here is one

A Kiss Before Dying deserves the accolade of being one of the greatest Mystery/ Thriller books of all time (Time Magazine) due to its incredible skill in turning a simple premise into a deep analysis of the criminal mind alongside the pitfalls of materialistic greed and how far people will go to get rich

A brilliant masterpiece, highly recommended

Thank you to Netgalley, Blackstone Publishing - Audiobooks, the author Ira Levin and exceptional narrators George Newbern and Rory Barnett

A thriller which involves Bud, three sisters Dorothy, Ellen and Marion,  their wealthy father (Leo Kingship)and Gordon Gant (Ellen's friend).  Perfectly written and executed.  I have seen many  of the movies based on Levin's books, but I have not read any of his books - so glad I started with this one!! Overall - a perfect read!

Ira Levin's 'A Kiss Before Dying' is a gripping masterpiece that seamlessly weaves together elements of suspense, psychological drama, and intricate plotting. From the very first page, Levin captivates readers with his skillful storytelling and keeps them on the edge of their seats until the final, shocking twist.

One of the novel's greatest strengths lies in its expertly crafted characters. Each one is meticulously developed, with their own distinct motivations and secrets that gradually unfold as the story progresses. Whether it's the charming yet sinister protagonist, the unsuspecting victims, or the determined detective hot on the trail, every character feels incredibly real and multi-dimensional, making it impossible not to become emotionally invested in their fates.

Levin's narrative is equally impressive, masterfully building tension with each chapter while skillfully planting clues and red herrings along the way. The pacing is flawless, keeping readers guessing and eagerly turning pages as they attempt to unravel the mystery at the heart of the story.

What truly sets 'A Kiss Before Dying' apart, however, is its exploration of themes such as ambition, obsession, and the lengths people will go to achieve their desires. Levin delves deep into the darker aspects of human nature, challenging readers to confront uncomfortable truths about love, manipulation, and the consequences of one's actions.

In the end, 'A Kiss Before Dying' is more than just a thrilling mystery—it's a thought-provoking examination of morality and the nature of evil. With its expertly crafted plot, unforgettable characters, and powerful themes, it's no wonder that this classic novel continues to captivate readers decades after its initial publication. Ira Levin's 'A Kiss Before Dying' is a must-read for anyone who appreciates a truly gripping tale that will leave them breathless until the very last page.

I can see where Joe Goldberg got his inspiration from (apart from Tom Ripley)
