This one was a bit of a disappointment after the first two. (The original Wild Robot is one of my son's and my favorite read-alouds, and we also enjoyed book 2.) This story drags quite a bit in the middle, the writing is repetitive, and parts read like a guide to learning about sea creatures rather than a story. Still, it was nice to spend time with Roz and the island animals.

This one still has heart, but I didn’t like it as much as the first two. There is a necessary message, though the ending is a bit tidy. I do think the series is excellent for the target age group.
