The title and inside-cover summary of this book led me to believe that there would be more supernatural suspense to this story… evidently, not the case. This book is a pretty short read, and the “action” didn’t really pick up until over halfway through. I had to wait until 3/4 through to find the major plot turner that actually had some interest going for it. The “suspenseful romantic thriller” review on the back cover is misleading.

Overall, this book is fine but lacks build-up and growth. The entire book takes place over a few days’ trip, and while this is totally manageable, this story just rushes through and doesn’t provide much to go on. I didn’t really know what to think about the two main men, Matt and Noah, and I mixed them up easily as they were pretty dang similar. I didn’t have any strong feelings or attachments to either because I felt I knew them for just a second. When the plot picked up a little, I couldn’t get into it because it’s not like there was built-up trust or love with either of these guys. They were (as the whole premise of the book) just two guys on a camping trip in Florida that Cadie dropped everything to hang out with… because they were attractive.
It felt disjointed and jagged.

And, I don’t agree with Carie’s actions of just dropping her responsibilities - including her 4yo brother - to hang out with this guys she just met. I get that she’s young and lost her childhood so that adventure was enticing to her… I just suppose there wasn’t enough buildup or background to help us understand her motives.
