Full Disclosure: I received a copy of this book from the author at Book Expo America, in exchange for an honest review.

My Thoughts: As a book blogger and with a love of books, I read ALL the time. So when you find something that’s different for you and enjoyable, it’s kind of like finding a rare gem. It’s exciting and you want to tell other people about it, without over selling it and hyping the book too much. Exposed was on of my gems.

The story line of Exposed was fairly unique for me. I’ve never read a story about a car thief ring made up of kids. It started to make more sense when I really thought about it. Of course kids on the streets would seek out some kind of group (safety in numbers and all of that). I never really thought about it outside of stereotypical gangs though. It’s an interesting concept and Exposed is one of 3 books in the Retribution trilogy. There is a different author for each book and they’re all told from a different point of view.

Raven is awesome! She obviously has a few issues with intimacy (I don’t mean sex), but her walls were both believable and relatable. Other than the criminal aspect, I’d like to be her. Actually if I could do what she can do, I’d probably be okay with the criminal aspect. Raven’s love interest (whose name is escaping me and it’s driving me nuts) was great, but I wish there had been more interaction between them. I’m hoping they’ll be in the other Retribution books too.

Exposed was pretty short. I believe I read it within a few hours and enjoyed every minute of it. I wish it was a bit longer because I started to get invested in the characters, but felt like I wasn’t seeing the full scope of things. There are 2 more books in the Retribution series coming out on October 13, each by a different author and from a different point of view (so there’s no specific order for reading them).

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Exposed and I’ll be looking for more books by Judith Graves. I’ll definitely keep my eyes peeled for the rest of the series come October. I would recommend Exposed, specifically for you young adult readers looking for a short, fast-paced read.
