Yarrow Glen's favorite cheese shop, Curds & Whey, gets to be a part of Summer Harrington’s wedding. Cheese monger Willa Bauer is going all out for the wedding shower’s cheese bar. A tasting ends in disaster when Willa’s potential beaux, Roman, gets in a fight with the groom. Then at the end of the wedding shower Willa finds the groom in the stable, dead. Willa must follow the trail of cheese curds to find a killer before she gets creamed.
This was a wonderful cozy mystery full of tasty characters and a scrumptious plot. Willa is one of my favorite sleuths because she tries to work with law enforcement, and she doesn't think that they are stupid. I also love that the law enforcement characters are well crafted and not dumbed down. But the best thing about this story is the plot. I always try to figure out whodunit, but I was very surprised with the culprit in the end. I can't wait to read another tasty mystery from Korina Moss. Thank you to NetGalley and St Martin's Press for this advanced reader's copy. This review is my unbiased opinion.

I adore this series and wished that there were more books in this series for me to continue on binging. Knowing that the fifth book will only be released late October this year, I couldn't bring myself to continue on with the fourth book Case of the Bleus.

But oh how I love the characters and the setting. Reading the first three books felt like a breath of fresh air. The characters with their own flaws were so lovable, and the mystery with its twists were interesting. I couldn't help but root for
the romance between Willa and Heath to take off
, but then again the wait feels like it'll be worth it.

Honestly I can't wait for October to be here soon so that I am able to continue on with this fun cozy mystery!

I previously enjoyed Gone for Gouda, the second book in the Cheese Shop Mystery series. The third volume, Curds of Prey, is another winner.

Cheese shop owner, Willa Bauer, is back behind the charcuterie board at Curds & Whey and around town. Willa has grabbed a plum gig – the wedding shower of one of the wealthiest families in town. The clients are demanding and ungrateful, but this high-profile event could bring a lot of business to her shop, so she must grin and bear their high-handed treatment. Her budding romance is also in question – the bride is Roman’s ex-girlfriend.

Willa is just getting set up at the shower when all hell breaks loose. Willa packs up and on way out finds a corpse. Roman is the primary suspect and Willa sets to work to clear him with the help of Archie and Mrs. Schultz.

Watching Willa build her business, grow in the community, and solve mysteries is a fun ride.

I received this advanced reader copy of Curds of Prey from NetGalley and St. Martin's Press in exchange for an honest review.

Started this one before the end of 2023, but it's my first book finished in 2024! This series is just the cutest, and they are such fun reads. No blood and gore, the mystery is there, but they still have a cozy, heart-warming, and almost lighthearted vibe. This is the 3rd in the series and I have loved them all - I think the first is still my favorite so far, but they've all sucked me in and I already have the 4th on my shelf just waiting to be read. I have yet to pick the murderer out until the end, and I think the writing does a fantastic job of keeping your attention, but also keeping you guessing until the last minute. I did have a hunch here, but it wasn't confirmed until the end. The characters are sooo good and I'm just waiting for Willia to get with Detective Heath already... the tension is great, but hot damn give me something more, haha!

I enjoy this series so much! Willa is just so down to earth and I love seeing how much she cares about her friends, neighbors, and community where she is trying to establish a new home even though she has only recently arrived. The suspects in the mystery were unlikable, but also had their moments. The romance had me stressed and feeling all of Willa's emotions, but I feel like she handled it so very well. I was not surprised by the reveal, but I enjoyed how it was put together and all the steps along the way. I wish I could visit this cheese shop as I was CONSTANTLY hungry.

When a groom ends up murdered at a wedding event Curds & Whey is catering Willa and #teamcheese is on the case. She uncovers local political ties and a love triangle connected to the prominent Harrington family of Sonoma Valley. As the investigation takes a deadly turn Willa finds out just how far the suspects will go to keep secrets covered up!

With a little romance, a lot of cheese and a great friend group what more could you ask for?
